Japanese logistics company Nippon Express Holdings (NX Group) has acquired several units of Austrian info-logistics service provider Cargo-partner, based mainly in Central and Eastern Europe, BalkanEngineer.com has learned from SeeNews.com. The acquired units are located in North Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Greece, Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia and Turkey.
The transaction was made through a special purpose vehicle that is wholly owned by a subsidiary of Nippon Express' European division. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed. The acquisition will complement NX Group's infrastructure in Central and Eastern Europe, enhancing services provided in Europe and further expanding the company's global network.
On the other hand, the increased volume of air and sea freight handled will improve the group's global competitiveness, meeting customer demand and addressing the challenges of logistics connections between Asia and Europe. NX Group and Cargo-partner aim to create synergies in their logistics operations by leveraging their different customer bases and strengths in specific locations, expanding and growing their global business.
