Tri-Wall Bulgaria, a subsidiary of Japan's Tri-Wall, is one of the new investors in Trakia Economic Zone (TEZ), as company representatives officially announced their investment, according to BalkanEngineer.com, citing BTA. Over the past month, the company purchased a 56 000 m² plot, where a paper and cardboard packaging production plant will be built.

"We are at the design stage and plan to have the plant operational by mid-2026. We are grateful for the support of the Trakia Economic Zone team," the company said. The TIZ added that the Japanese company is planning an investment of more than 60 million BGN and will apply for Class A investor status.

In the industrial zone, located near Plovdiv, other large-scale projects of international companies are underway. Schneider Electric Bulgaria plans to build a factory with an initial investment of 15 million euros, potentially increasing to 70 million euros. Chinese company Zies Europe is constructing a plant for aluminium parts used in the automotive industry, and the Bulgarian company Smart Power Grid is implementing a 25 million BGN investment project to produce energy distribution equipment, creating around 150 new jobs.
