The Bulgarian company International Armored Group (IAG) will open a new plant near Burgas in early October after an investment of over BGN 20 million, BalkanEngineer.com learned from Money.bg. The plant will produce armored vehicles and drones for rescue, reconnaissance and emergency operations, as well as military evacuation cranes and light vehicles to NATO standards.
The first sod of the new IAG plant was broken in March last year by Dr. Anton Stefov, the owner of the company. The plant, which occupies an area of 150,000 m² in the industrial zone of Burgas, will create 50 new jobs, which will grow to over 300.
After this project, IAG is planning two more plants in Bulgaria - near Plovdiv and Blagoevgrad - with an investment of BGN 25 million for each. IAG has over 1,000 employees worldwide and manufacturing facilities in the US, Canada, the United Arab Emirates and Turkey.
