The French company Malteri Soufflé Bulgaria has started construction of a new malt plant in Pleven, BalkanEngineer.com has learned from Economy.bg. The investment project is worth EUR 56 million and aims to double the company's production capacity to 60,000 t of malt per year.
With the increase in production, the company will fully satisfy the demand of Bulgarian breweries and create additional opportunities to increase exports to neighbouring countries. Currently, Malteri Soufflé Bulgaria manages with 45 employees in their plant in Pleven to achieve an annual turnover of about 25 million leva, which speaks for high efficiency, innovation and maximum mechanization.
The company's investment also brings another piece of news for the Pleven region, which needs new jobs. Malteri Soufflé Bulgaria plans to use Bulgarian contractors during the construction.
The French company is part of the InVivo group, which is one of the world's leading malt producers. Malteri Soufflé has more than 92 sites in 38 countries and employs more than 14,500 people. The malt division has production in 12 countries and in Bulgaria it operates through plants in Pleven and Haskovo.
