The French government is preparing an agreement with Albania providing €600 million ($633 million) in funding for projects boosting the Southeast European country's economy and its energy transition. BalkanEngineer.com has learned this from SeeNews.com.
"Together with our development agency AFD, we want to accompany Albania in its economic reforms, energy and environmental transition," French President Emmanuel Macron himself said on the subject during a visit to Tirana.
Since 2019, France has financed energy and economic development projects in Albania worth 210 million euros, and in June this year, Albania's energy ministry announced that the country had signed a 100 million euro loan agreement with German state development bank KfW and French development agency AFD to finance energy sector reforms.
