The National Energy Company of Northern Macedonia "Electrani na Makedonija" (ELEM) has signed a two-year contract with local firm Markovski Company, BalkanEngineer.com has learned from Bnnbreaking.com. The agreement, worth €3.8 million, is for the commencement of sloshing and welding works at the REC Bitola thermal power plant.
The contract, signed on February 12 this year, marks a crucial step in maintaining and improving the operational efficiency of REC Bitola. It is noteworthy that the company Markovski is the only bidder for the supply of these services, underlining its reputation and experience in the field.
REC Bitola is the largest thermal power plant in Northern Macedonia and a critical pillar of the country's energy infrastructure. Accounting for over 72% of the country's total energy production, it plays a key role in powering homes, businesses and industries across the state. The €3.8 million contract represents a significant investment in maintaining and upgrading the facility.
