Cetral Invest, the company of businessman Kocho Andzhushev, will be the first to bring large battery storage systems to North Macedonia for storing surplus electricity generated by renewable energy plants, BalkanEngineer.com has learned from Makfax.com.mk.
The company is currently building a new 6.5 MW photovoltaic power plant, where the batteries will be installed in a pilot in the country.
To date, battery systems are the only way to store surplus electricity from renewable sources, mainly from solar (photovoltaic) power plants. Storing the surplus will prevent the loss of energy in overproduction when it cannot be consumed at the moment it is produced. Batteries will allow electricity that is in surplus during the day to be used when needed.
