The Bulgarian operator of public charging infrastructure Eldrive has announced the start of the construction of several large charging parks for electric vehicles in its own locations with a rich ecosystem, BalkanEngineer.com learned from Economy.bg. The first such facility is already under construction in Lithuania, near the town of Panevezys on the Via Baltica highway.
The initial fleet in Lithuania will have 20 charging points, and in the second stage they will be increased to 40. The project includes charging infrastructure for electric buses and trucks, with capacities between 200 and 400 kW DC. Commissioning is planned for the end of this year.
The location will have a cafe, shops and accompanying infrastructure providing convenience for users. "Such type of locations are unique and completely missing in the Baltics and Eastern Europe, but also extremely rare globally," comments Stefan Spasov, executive director of Eldrive Holding.
Eldrive plans to build many such parks in Bulgaria, Romania and Lithuania. Partners of the site in Lithuania are "Caffeine" and "Narvesen", part of the Norwegian conglomerate REITAN AS. Eldrive operates over 1,350 charging points in the three markets and is part of the Renalfa Solarpro Group GmbH.
