Around 600 new jobs will be created by Avesta Batteries and Energy Engineering (ABEE), which will invest around EUR 40 million in North Macedonia, BalkanEngineer.com has learned from Inovativnost.mk. The Belgian company will build a plant for the production of electric car batteries in the Kichevo TIRZ.
The agreement for the investment was signed in Brussels by the director of the Directorate for Technological Development of the Industrial Zones of North Macedonia, Jovan Despotovski, and the owner and general director of ABEE, Neshin Omar. The signing ceremony was also attended by the Minister of Economy, Kreshnik Bektesi.
ABEE's investment will be implemented in the industrial zone of Kichevo, creating 600 jobs in all its phases. This will mean a reduction in migration and the creation of new highly skilled and highly paid jobs, not only for the local population but for the whole country.
It is of great importance that the personnel to be employed in the Kichevo factory undergo a training process to introduce new technologies and apply high-tech work processes that will be implemented in the ABEE plant. The average gross salary will be around EUR 1 500.
