The Albanian national electricity company KESH is collecting bids for a PV power plant project on the Zadeja dam belonging to the Vau i Dejës hydropower plant. BalkanEngieer.com has learned this from Balkangreennews.com. The contract is expected to include maintenance.
The transformation of the Vau i Dejës hydropower plant in Albania into an innovative energy hub is gaining momentum. After installing a 5.1 MW photovoltaic array on the Qyrsaq dam and conducting a preliminary tender for a 12.9 MW floating photovoltaic facility on the waters of the dam, KESH is now looking for a contractor for a solar power plant on the Zadeja dam.
The deadline for bids for design, engineering, construction, commissioning and a two-year maintenance period is July 3. The state-owned company has estimated the investment at a maximum of EUR 7.6 million excluding VAT. The photovoltaic power plant will have a peak capacity of 8.25 MW.
Bidders must provide proof of previous experience with similar projects, and the selected company will have to commission the facility in northwestern Albania, near the border with Montenegro, within 17 months. The first task is to carry out a feasibility study.
