The Albanian government has announced that it has transferred 892.5 million Albanian leks (about 8.2 million euros) to the Municipality of Drač to finance the cost of a project to rehabilitate the coastal city's sewerage system. BalkanEngineer.com has learned this from SeeNews.com.
The project includes works to rehabilitate the infrastructure of the drainage network in the Porto Romano area and the storm water system in urban areas. Drach's infrastructure suffered significant damage in a 6.4 Richter magnitude earthquake in November 2019, making the renovation of the network even more urgent.
In 2021, the government said it would allocate a total of Lek 2 billion to finance the rehabilitation of the drainage system in Drach, with around Lek 1.1 billion already provided in 2021 and 2022.
