The Turkish company Appsilon Enterprise, specialized in the production of laboratory diamonds, is considering the possibility of investing in Bulgaria, BalkanEngineer.com was informed by Economic.bg. The successful implementation of the project could create around 100 new jobs, and Plovdiv is being considered as a potential location for the production, but several other locations are also being considered.
Appsilon Enterprise is a Turkish technology startup founded in early 2017 with the aim of growing diamonds in the lab. In addition to making jewelry, they are also used in the high-tech sector to create chips, quantum sensors, optics and detectors.
The company has a facility in Delft, the Netherlands, as well as a production facility in Istanbul, Turkey. In early 2023, representatives of the Bulgarian Investment Agency visited its Istanbul laboratory during a business forum to promote investment in Bulgaria.
Since its inception, Appsilon Enterprise has raised approximately $20 million in investment from seven funding rounds, with the company's main competitors including Nanoramic Laboratories, AON3D - Industrial Additive Manufacturing Solutions and UbiQD.
