The Swedish company SHL Healthcare has received a Class A certificate for its investment project "Medical Device Manufacturing Plant" to be implemented in the municipality of Ilinden, Sofia, Bulgaria. This is what BalkanEngineer.com learned from Economy.bg.
With this project, the company aims to expand its production capacity, with some of the manufactured products including medical devices such as slings, socks with lymphoderma treatment mechanism, mattress systems for hospital beds and others.
This is the company's first manufacturing facility in Europe and the total investment is BGN 1 640 000, with 150 new jobs expected to be created.
Parent company SHL Healthcare AB was established in 1989 by Swedish entrepreneurs and has since been a leader in the production of medical equipment. It is a manufacturer of drug delivery devices such as auto-injectors, pen-shaped injectors and inhaler systems for major biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies worldwide.
The company currently employs more than 5,300 people and has bases in Switzerland, Taiwan, Sweden, the US and China.
