Serbia has begun the expansion of the state-owned technology park in the southern city of Nis with an investment worth €25 million, BalkanEngineer.com has learned from SeeNews.com.
According to the government's press release, a new facility including 9,500 m2 of office space and between 900 and 1,000 m2 of laboratories will be built in the northwestern part of the existing complex. Construction is expected to be completed by October 2025.
In June 2023, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) signed an €80 million loan agreement with Serbia, with the funds intended to finance the expansion of the country's technology parks.
