Romanian startup Energy Advisor has developed an app designed to help consumers reduce their energy bills and manage consumption in their homes more efficiently, BalkanEnigneer.com has learned from Romania-Insider.com. The Renergia app was released recently, and an English-language version is planned for autumn this year.
The app, which analyses household energy consumption and provides an estimate of consumers' monthly and annual energy costs and the potential for savings in both electricity and heating energy, was developed by a team from the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca. Started as an academic project, it became a business venture when the start-up received funding through a national innovation programme.
Meanwhile, the app project has also been selected for the early stage of Romania's ClimAccelerator, which targets technology start-ups working on solutions with environmental impact.
Although the company is currently focused on the local market, Energy Advisor is also exploring neighbouring markets.
