Romanian FMCG distribution and logistics company Aquila said it plans to invest EUR12.7 million (USD13.9 million) in 2023, BalkanEngineer.com has learned from SeeNews.com. Of the projected amount, the company will invest €9 million in warehouse and automated equipment and vehicles.
The planned investments follow the company's sustainability strategy, through which it aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 10% by 2026, with 2021 as the reference year.
For 2022, the company reported a 20% annual increase in net profit to 85 million lei ($18.9 million/€17.2 million).
Aquila was established in 1994 as an enterprise specialising in integrated consumer goods distribution and logistics services, currently employing around 3,000 people. The company is present on the Romanian and Moldovan markets and operates over 1,600 vehicles.
