Romania will notify the European Commission of increasing its state aid scheme for the country's manufacturing industries from €150 million a year to €500 million a year and extending it from two years (2022-2023) to four years until 2025, BalkanEngineer has learned. com from Romania-insider.com.
The government adopted the new state aid scheme with grants for investments in the manufacturing industry in August last year. It aims to strengthen the attraction of investments from the manufacturing industry, with a direct effect on regional development, create new jobs and increase the competitiveness of Romanian products by expanding and supporting chains of various industrial sectors.
The scheme focuses on production equipment and wages for the workforce involved in production, while expenditure on buildings – whether newly constructed or purchased – is not eligible. On the other hand, the production equipment purchased does not necessarily have to be new.
