North Macedonia's leading automotive battery manufacturer TAB MAK has applied for a license to produce electricity at two solar power plants with a combined capacity of 8 MW, BalkanEngineer.com has learned bnnbreaking.com. TAB MAK intends to sell the electricity on the open market, and the plants will aim to contribute to the country's renewable energy sector and stimulate economic growth.
TAB MAK has submitted the application to the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (EWRC) and the requested duration of the licence is 35 years. Each of the two plants will have a generating capacity of 4 MW. Last year, the CEWRC granted TAB MAC a license for trial operation of the two solar plants, and the successful trial period has now paved the way for the company to pursue full-scale power generation.
"We are proud to be at the forefront of renewable energy development in North Macedonia. Our solar power plants will not only generate clean electricity, but will also create jobs and stimulate economic growth in the region," said Ivan Dimovski, CEO of TAB MAK.
