Alkaloid has launched a new digitalization and process automation project in the pharmacy segment, implementing a cutting-edge manufacturing execution system - AlkaMES (Alkaloid Manufacturing Execution System), BalkanEngineer.com has learned from the company. ANTSolutions from Poland has been selected as the implementation partner for the project.
AlkaMES is critical for process control and the complete digitalization and automation of manufacturing processes with automatic data collection from production equipment and paperless operation. As an outstanding tool for improving operational performance, the system aims at the complete digitalization of the production process by upgrading and integrating existing operations, automating production processes and equipment, implementing new modules, upgrading the planning system, and fully electronically managing production deviations.
In addition, AlkaMES will significantly improve overall efficiency, allowing valuable resources and time to be saved in data collection, real-time monitoring and control of processes, and making correct and timely decisions based on accurate and up-to-date information.
The official launch of the AlkaMES project, which is worth over €1 million, was announced at a meeting held on 18 July 2023. At it, the CEO and President of the Board of Alkaloid Skopje, Mr. Zivko Mukaetov, officially marked the start of the project, highlighting the main benefits and objectives of the venture. The event was also attended by the project team, which consists of more than 80 members, representatives of Alkaloid and the partner company, divided into nine teams who are top experts with proven experience in their field.
According to the schedule, the pilot project will be completed by the end of Q1 2024 and the full scope will be completed in Q1 2025.
