Nestlé Romania is acquiring the SOLGAR® business in the food supplements category, with the aim of commercializing its products directly on the Romanian market, BalkanEngineer.com has learned from Romaniajournal.ro. The local transaction follows Nestlé's acquisition of Bountiful Company's core brands, including Nature's Bounty®, SOLGAR®, Osteo Bi-Flex®, Puritan's Pride®, Ester-C® and Sundown®.
Both the SOLGAR® brand and team will be integrated into the structure of Nestlé Romania as part of the Nestlé Health Science division.
"This acquisition is an exciting step in realizing our purpose: to unlock the power of food to improve the quality of life for everyone, today and for generations to come." The acquisition of the Solgar® business contributes to Nestlé Romania's growth opportunities in the highly attractive supplements, vitamins and minerals market and represents a great opportunity for Nestlé Health Science to increase its presence in the Romanian market. This includes a dedicated team that has experience in this industry and a distribution channel in the pharmacy chain. We invite our consumers to enjoy Solgar® supplements, vitamins and products aimed at a healthier lifestyle," said Alessandro Zanelli, Nestlé's Marketing Manager for Southern and Eastern Europe.
SOLGAR® products have been distributed in Romania since 2012 by Isoplus, a company founded in 1986 in Greece with the aim of offering Greek consumers high-quality natural food supplements, and later in other countries in the region.
