In a strategic move for the future of Albania's economy, the Municipality of Tirana and the country's Ministry of Economy, Culture and Innovation have signed an agreement to cooperate on the construction of the Technological and Economic Development Area (TEDA Tirana), located between Kashari and Vakari. This information BalkanEngineer.com learned from BTA.
This economic zone promises to be not only a catalyst for development but also a magnet for foreign investment, with a concentration on information technology, automotive manufacturing and tourism. The agreement also paves the way for infrastructure projects and establishes the process for inviting companies wishing to take advantage of opportunities in the economic zone.
The mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliai, emphasized that the new economic zone also represents a model that can serve as an example for other municipalities. According to him, an economic zone could create about 7,000 new jobs, mainly concentrated in the new technology sector. The mayor also emphasized the competitive advantages that this region can offer to investors.
The Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation, Blendi Gonja, also emphasized the need for this strategic initiative as a catalyst for innovation, investment and sustainable development in the region.
