With an investment of €60 million, Malteri Soufflé Bulgaria, a leading company in malt production, has started construction of a new production facility, BalkanEngineer.com has learned from Capital.bg. The new facility will replace the company's existing production units in Pleven and Haskovo and aims to double Malteri Soufflé's production capacity in the country to 60,000 tonnes of malt per year.
The new facilities are focused on the implementation of the latest technologies and standards for energy efficiency and environmental friendliness. As a result, the carbon footprint is expected to be significantly reduced and the installed photovoltaic farm will provide up to 40% of the electricity required. In addition, the automation of production processes will allow the company to increase production without significantly increasing the workforce.
The planned expansion is essential for the sustainable development of the sector in the country, as Malteri Soufflé Bulgaria's strategy will support local farmers, providing them with stable income and financing without intermediaries, and strengthen the position of Bulgarian malt on the global market.
Malteri Soufflé Bulgaria is part of the International Malting Group, which is one of the world's leading malt producers. The company has more than 92 locations in 38 countries and employs more than 14 500 people.
