Austrian building materials giant Lasselsberger, the parent company of the famous Romanian ceramic tile brand Cesarom, is building a state-of-the-art factory in the northwest Romanian municipality of Sandulesti in Cluj County. This information BalkanEngineer.com learned from SeeNews.com. The investment, estimated at 823.6 million lei (165.5 million euros), will stimulate the local economy and support the construction sector in the country.
The large-scale project is substantially supported by the Romanian government through a non-refundable state aid of 133.2 million lei.
Under the proposed agreement, Lasselsberger is committed to bear the operating and maintenance costs of the upcoming facility, along with contingencies, for a minimum of five years after construction. This commitment underscores the company's financial integrity and its commitment to promoting long-term sustainability in the region.
The new project follows Lasselsberger's recent €1 million investment in a modern ceramic tile rectification production line at its production center in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
