Hungary and Albania signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of European integration and the water industry during an official visit to Albania by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and a delegation of his ministers. This is what BalkanEngieer.com learned from Bbj.hu.

Under the water industry cooperation agreement, Budapest's waterworks operator Fővárosi Vízművek will set up a water management system for the Albanian capital Tirana. An agreement was also reached on the construction of a solar park worth HUF 5 billion* (Hungarian forint) in Albania by the Hungarian company Gemtech, with the Hungarian government supporting the project with HUF 2.5 billion.

Cooperation between the two countries in the field of engineering and technology is close. Hungarian company 4iG controls 57% of Albania's telecommunications market, and OTP Bank is the country's third-largest lender. Also, low-cost carrier Wizz Air has a 51% share of the passenger air travel market in Albania.
