Hungarian telecommunications and IT group 4iG plans to launch mobile and fixed services in North Macedonia as part of its expansion strategy on the Western Balkans, BalkanEngineer.com learned from Developingtelecoms.com. For this purpose, the chairman of the operator held a meeting with the country’s deputy prime minister to explore business opportunities.
According to the chairman of 4iG, the company will start working in the next few weeks with the government of North Macedonia to formalize its commitment and further specify their future relationship. According to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Communications of North Macedonia – Alexandar Nikoloski, the potential launch of the Hungarian operator’s services would bring significant benefits to the citizens.
The company 4iG was founded in 1990 in Budapest and is today the second largest operator in Hungary. The company is already present with its services on the telecommunications market in Montenegro and Albania, where it offers its One brand.
