Hisense Europe, part of China's Hisense Group, one of the world's largest manufacturers of home appliances and electronics, has announced that it has opened its third factory in the Serbian town of Valevo with an investment of €45 million. At the new factory in Valevo, Hisense Europe will produce side-by-side refrigerators under the Hisense, Gorenje and Asko brands, mainly for export to European markets.
The company will employ 1,020 workers in Valevo over the next three years, and the capacity of the factory will be 750,000 appliances per year. With this, the total production of the three Hisense Europe factories in Valevo is expected to reach 1.7 million units per year by 2025.
In October 2018, Hisense Luxembourg Home Appliance Holding, a member of the Hisense Group, acquired a 95.42% stake in Slovenian home appliance manufacturer Gorenje, which has been operating in Serbia for 17 years.
