WRRW (Gorichane Wind Farm), a Bulgarian developer of wind energy projects, has completed the sale of 80MW for the Gorichane and Prolez wind farms to Finnish renewable energy investor Taaleri Energia, BalkanEngineer.com has learned from Money.bg. The wind farms will be the first in Bulgaria to implement the new technology for wind turbines with a capacity of up to 8 MW per generator.
The deal, which includes the sale of 100% of the project and the financing of the remaining development costs, was completed on 19 May this year and was registered with the Bulgarian Commercial Register on 26 May. The Gorichane and Prolez wind farms, located approximately 5 km west of Shabla, North East Bulgaria, are at an advanced stage of development, with land for up to 14 turbine sites and a substation, a grid connection contract and wind turbines already installed.
Once commissioned, they will be the third largest wind power plant in Bulgaria after St Nicholas near Kavarna and Vetrogom near Kazanlak.
Taaleri Energia is a Finland-based wind and solar energy fund manager currently raising its sixth renewable energy fund. The company has one of the largest dedicated wind and solar investment teams in Europe and is one of the largest private shareholder-owner-operators in the Finnish wind market, with 116 turbines producing approximately 1.8% of the country's total electricity. Taaleri Energia is part of Taaleri Group, which is listed on the Nasdaq Helsinki exchange and has €2.5 billion in assets under management.
