North Macedonia has received a grant of €9.1 million from the German state development bank KfW. It has been granted to the state-owned energy company Elektrani of North Macedonia (ESM) for the expansion of the Bogdantsi wind farm, BalkanEngineer.com has learned from SeeNews.com. The funding aims to increase the capacity of the facility from 36.8 MW to 50 MW with improvements such as the construction of an access road and a 20 kV cable network.

Since its launch in July 2015, the Bogdantsi wind farm has been a key component of North Macedonia's renewable energy infrastructure, contributing significantly to its clean energy goals. The current expansion project affirms the country's commitment to developing sustainable energy sources and is in line with broader global efforts to combat climate change.

The collaboration between ESM and KfW highlights the importance of international partnerships to drive renewable energy initiatives. In addition to strengthening North Macedonia's energy landscape, the project signifies a step towards a cleaner and more sustainable energy future.
