The implementation of the photovoltaic power plant "Petka" in Serbia has started. In August this year, the selection of contractors for the construction of the facility will take place and a contract will be signed, with construction to start in September, BalkanEngineer.com has learned from Ekapija.com.
This is the first solar power plant in the Kostolac branch of EPS TE-TO, and it will be built on the outside of the Cirikovac open pit mine. The installed capacity of the plant will be 9.75 MW and its planned annual production is 15.6 GWh.
The construction of the Petka photovoltaic power plant is one of the projects that will increase EPS's green energy production capacity. The preparatory work has already been completed and the surface on which the facility will be built has been cleared. The workers of Privredno Drustvo Rekultivacija i Ozelenjavanje from Kostolac have cultivated 15 ha designated for the plant, and the active area of the panels will be on 11.62 ha.
The planned cost of the investment is 1.36 billion dinars and will be financed with EPS funds. Six bids were submitted for the tender to select the contractor, which was opened on 23 May. The bids are to be examined and ranked, the best bid determined and the contract signed with the selected contractor. The planned timeframe for completion of the project is 15 months from the signing of the contract.
