US-based multinational computer technology company Oracle has opened a regional centre in the central Serbian city of Kragujevac, from which it will provide IT cloud services to global users. BalkanEngieer.com has learned this from

During the opening ceremony, Oracle and state-owned telecommunications operator Telekom Srbija signed a contract under which Telekom will use the US company's cloud infrastructure.
Currently, the data center in Kragujevac covers 14,000 m2, and its facilities are used by the government, universities, technology parks and startups.
The Serbian government will also invest in the development of an innovation district in Kragujevac, which will cover 56,000 m2. It will house a technology park, a national centre for information security and facilities for start-ups. The entire investment is estimated at EUR 120 million.
