The young Bulgarian company for the production of airships Niki Rotor Aviation plans to expand its production of carbon components and assembly near Pravets in the next 3 years. This is what BalkanEngineer.com has learned from Capital.bg.
The company sells 10 to 15 machines a year, but as production expands, management expects that figure to grow to 50 in 2026. The company is developing three models, including the Kalitea, a Lightning that is currently undergoing certification. In late April this year, at the Aero Messe aviation forum in Friedrichshafen, Germany, the two-seat "Cruiser" model was also unveiled, where the pilot and passenger are positioned side by side, unlike other models where they are stacked behind each other. The company also produces a budget single-seat model.
Within the next 3 years, the company plans to expand the carbon fiber and assembly manufacturing units into a new state-of-the-art factory that can take over the production of carbon fiber parts and components for the aviation industry - airplanes, helicopters, autogyros. Only 20% of manufacturers worldwide have their own resources to produce sub-components and parts.
Crane companies have been on the market for 4-5 years and are still in the process of establishing a more serious market position. 500 thousand BGN have been invested for the development of the latest model of Cruiser. - For construction, materials and testing. The aircraft is made in Bulgaria, entirely of carbon fiber - a material with low weight and extremely high strength, which guarantees high maneuverability and safety during flight. The price of the "Kaliteia" starts at 135 thousand euros, while for the "Cruiser" it is 160 thousand euros, the final price depends on the equipment.
