Bulgarian company Ampeco (AMRESO), specialized in the development of charging station management platforms, plans to expand its presence in France by opening an office in the capital Paris. BalkanEngineer.com has learned this from BTA.
The French team will be set up with the aim of consolidating Ampeco's position in Europe's second largest country in terms of the number of public charging stations. France currently has more than 100,000 such stations and its ambition is to reach 400,000 by 2030.
The new team will be headed by Glenn L'Evedere, who has extensive experience in smart electric vehicle charging solutions. He will take up the position of Head of Business Development for Europe.
Ampeco CEO Orlin Radev stressed that opening the office in France and forming a dedicated team is an important step in the company's global expansion strategy. He noted that the company continues to grow, currently employing around 100 professionals in various fields, which is double the number of the previous year.
Ampeco's expansion into France comes after a successful venture capital raise of more than $16 million in the previous year. Among the investors is BMW Group's venture capital fund, BMW i Ventures. The company said the funds will be used to expand the team and enter new markets in Europe and North America.
