The German manufacturer of mechanical and electronic locking systems for cars Huf has officially opened its new laboratory in Romania, which is part of the technical center (TCRL) in Timisoara, BalkanEngineer.com learned from the company. This facility is Huf's third location in Romania and is the largest testing and validation center in the company's global network.
The opening of the new laboratory was attended by a number of high-ranking persons from the local and central administration, academic partners and company employees.
TCRL's new facility will serve all five Huf companies in Europe – in Portugal, Spain, Poland, Germany and Romania. The lab will test and validate a wide range of products, including car door handles and an assortment of car keys, from classic to smart and digital variants. This initiative is in line with Huf's ambitious goal to push the boundaries of what is possible in car locking solutions.
Cristian Enculescu, director of both Huf Technical Center Romania and the newly created laboratory, detailed the capabilities of the new facility, emphasizing the fact that the company aims not only to increase its technological prowess, but also to improve its capacity in initial testing, design and process validation.
Since its establishment in 2006 with the first production facility in Arad, Huf Romania has shown remarkable growth. The operations in Romania, especially with the reach of 300 employees in the Timisoara Technical Center, reflect the dynamic growth of the Huf Group, which throughout its 116-year history has consistently demonstrated innovation and leadership in the automotive sector.
