A special purpose vehicle of Albanian investment company Gjonaj Group Holdings has acquired GreeNNat Solar Park Ballsh, which is developing a 100 MW solar power plant in Ballsh, southern Albania, for €1.95 million, BalkanEngineer.com has learned from Serbia-energy.eu.
Infotelecom-Albsolar 3, established in April this year by Gjonaj and renewable energy developer Ener Trade, acquired GreeNNat from local construction and energy group Shijaku.
In January, the Albanian government said it had approved GreeNNat's request to develop a 100MW PV plant on the site of an abandoned oil refinery in Balsh, with construction expected to be completed within 60 months.
In 2021, Shijaku acquired the Ballsh refinery for €8 million from a commercial bank in Albania that had taken it as collateral due to an unpaid loan from the previous operating company, Allum Enterprises.
