Albania reported an economic growth of 16% for 2023, driven by the mineral water and cement production sectors

According to BalkanEngineer.com, citing monitor.al., industrial production in Albania increased by 16% in 2023, mainly due to higher output in the production of mineral water and cement. According to Instat, oil extraction amounted to 891,400 tons, a decrease of 1%. Soft drinks and mineral water production reached 498.8 million litres, showing a 15.9% growth.

 

 

The sales value of petroleum products was 39.28 billion ALL (Albanian lek), iron and steel products amounted to 33.12 billion ALL, and cement sales reached 19.39 billion ALL. Soft drinks and mineral water sales increased by 12.8% to 13.22 billion ALL.

 

Metallurgy accounted for 13.5% of total sales in 2023, compared to 15.2% in 2022, while food processing represented 11.7%. The data is based on the annual ProdCom survey, which collects statistics on around 4,000 industrial products according to EU methodology.
