Occupational Health&Safety SpecialistPosition Description:
- Implements and monitors Festo's health and safety standards at the site.
- Ensures compliance with statutory and regulatory provisions in the areas of occupational health and safety.
- Supports the Management into developing and implementing strategy and program for occupational health and safety.
- Supports the design of workplaces, work procedures, and issues of ergonomics connected to OHS.
- Participates in projects and working groups on the purchase or commissioning of new machinery, equipment, tools, etc. to ensure compliance with OHS requirements.
- Actively participates in the selection and procurement of the personal protective equipment required for the performance of specific activities.
- Supports hazard and risk assessments in accordance with the occupational health and safety regulations.
- Carries out safety inspections/tours and coordinates the control of measures.
- Carries out accident analyses, investigating risks and root causes of accidents and suggests and initiates corrective measures.
- Trains company employees on safety standards and other accident prevention measures, as well carry out initial instructions and follow-on training requirements.
- Participates in sustainable occupational health and safety projects in accordance with strategic guidelines.
- Supports the continuous improvement of the occupational safety management system, and rises awareness throughout the entire company.
- Prepares instructions and supports the creation of posters and notices, to publicize and develop accident prevention habits.
Technical Competencies and Requirements:
- Higher education – in the field of occupational health and safety.
- Business fluent English.
- Good knowledge of MS Office.
Professional Competencies and Requirements:
- Previous experience in the field of Occupational health and safety, or on a similar position - at least 2 years.
- Good knowledge of health and safety and employment legislation.
- Experience in health and safety management systems.
- Analytical thinking, good powers of persuasion, good communication and teamwork skills.
- Good knowledge of production processes will be considered as an advantage.
