To solve this, Gossen Metrawatt has developed a new version of the SECUTEST ST PRIME multifunctional electrical safety testers, meant for checking during the production process, after repairs and during periodic technical inspections. The new addition to the SECUTEST ST PRIME is the integrated function for high voltage testing with a direct current up to 6 kV. This type of testing is widely utilized in the production of electrical equipment to verify the dielectric strength of the insulation and to check compliance with design requirements regarding clearance and creepage distance between two conductive parts. Additionally, this high voltage test allows for finding production defects, which can lead to compromised safety.
"Thanks to the integrated high-voltage test function, manufacturers can perform routine tests faster and more efficiently, without the need for separate specialized equipment. If required, the unit can be configured with an input for an external high-voltage source, enabling measurements on individual electrical components or between two freely selectable points," KMT Service explained.
