Gossen Metrawatt, an established developer and manufacturer of power equipment, introduces its new generation of MID certified ENERGYMID EM LPWAN meters. "They build on the proven EM2281 and EM2389 models with an integrated radio interface. The new solutions combine precision, reliability and intelligent communication via LPWAN technology for remote data collection and analysis," commented established trading company KMT Service to BalkanEngineer.com, an official partner of Gossen Metrawatt in the field of measurement technologies and energy efficiency.

Smart measurements with LPWAN communication

The new ENERGYMID EM LPWAN models feature an integrated wireless module using the Low Power Wide Area Network (LPWAN), a technology that provides stable communication with minimal power consumption and a wide transmission range. "The new ENERGYMID models of Gossen Metrawatt combine proven reliability with modern communication technology," said KMT Service, and added that this allows for easier remote control and analysis of energy data. The appliances can be integrated into energy management systems even at remote sites, without the need for additional wiring or complex installation.

MID certification, in turn, certifies compliance with European standards for accuracy and safety in electricity metering, which makes ENERGYMID suitable for commercial, industrial and public applications.

Technical characteristics of ENERGYMID EM LPWAN

The ENERGYMID EM LPWAN series features high measurement accuracy, corresponding to accuracy class B (EN50470-3) for active energy and class 2 for reactive energy. The devices operate at a rated voltage of 230/400 V and a frequency of 50/60 Hz, with a measuring current range of 0.25 to 80 A.

"Gossen Metrawatt always puts emphasis on measurement accuracy and functionality," commented KMT Service. This, in their words, distinguishes the ENERGYMID EM LPWAN series from other market options. The devices support active, reactive, and apparent power measurements, as well as voltage, current, and power factor, while providing bidirectional measurement suitable for renewable energy installations. Each appliance is equipped with a high-contrast LCD display that shows parameters such as instantaneous power, energy consumption and current load. Data can be transmitted via LPWAN as well as through standard interfaces such as M-Bus and Modbus, which facilitates integration into existing energy platforms.
