In industrial processes, where it is necessary to monitor the intensity of liquid applications - oils, emulsions, additives, disinfectant solutions, etc., manual pneumatic spray systems are not optimal. They are characterized by excessive product consumption, thus adding additional maintenance expenses. For standard systems, flow rate is controlled by varying the pressure, but doing so alters the spray angle and droplet size. "As a result, the application process cannot be precisely regulated—unlike the automated spray systems developed by the Italian company PNR," Indumatic commented, an established engineering and trading company and PNR’s official partner in Bulgaria, informing BalkanEngineer.com.

The automated spray system is an industrials solution, comprised of an electrically operated nozzle, and an electronic control module that operates in synchronization for the precise and repeatable dispensing of liquids. Unlike traditional systems, flow rate is electronically controlled at constant pressure by regulating the valve opening time, rather than by varying the pressure itself.

"The result is even distribution, adaptation to the line speed, and minimal impact outside the application zone," Indumatic explained.

"At the core of modern automated spray systems lies the flow control method. In traditional systems, the quantity of liquid supplied is regulated by varying the pressure, which also alters the spray angle, droplet size, and application uniformity on the product," Indumatic commented.

Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) spraying technology solves this problem: pressure remains constant, while control is achieved through the opening and closing frequency of the nozzle's solenoid valve—and, above all, through the duration the valve remains open within a single cycle.
