Hello! Please provide a short introduction about yourself.

Hello! My name is Tedi Georgieva. I work as a design engineer in the “Treasuries” department of Multivac Bulgaria Production. I have graduated with a degree in “Industrial Management” from Sofia Technical University.

When did you decide that engineering is your calling?

While I was studying at university, I realized the engineering part of my degree is much more interesting than the management part, even though both aspects are interlocked. When I began working, I was sure that engineering is for me.

What is the bravest decision you’ve made during your professional career?

The bravest decision I’ve made during my professional career is to engage in projects and responsibilities that are outside my comfort zone. It is because of these challenges that I’ve managed to develop professionally and personally.

What stereotype regarding women engineers you’d like to see gone?

It is time to let go of the idea that you can’t wear heels if you’re an engineer! Smiling and being feminine doesn’t contradict having technical knowledge and professionalism.

Engineering is not a primarily male profession – capabilities and knowledge don’t depend on gender.

Which project or success of yours still makes you smile with pride today?

Every successfully completed project to which I have contributed—even in a small way—brings me genuine satisfaction. The greatest joy is seeing the tangible result of your hard work after all the challenges you have overcome to achieve it.
