ZF Friedrichshafen (ZF Group), a leading German producer of components for car industry, intends to open Research and Development (R&D) Center in Serbia, BalkanEngineer.com learned from SeeNews.com.
The investment amounts to EUR 160 million. The German giant ZF Grоuр plans to hire 100 employees for research and development activities and to open a total of 1 000 jobs in Serbia. The company’s investment in construction of a factory for production parts for electrical vehicles in Pancevo, North Serbia, will be about EUR 85 million.
In the first phase of the project the German company plans to produce shafts for premium equipment manufacturers, electric motors, electronic and mechatronics gearboxes, microswitches and circuit boards.
On a global scale the company has approximately 146 000 employees from nearly 230 locations in 40 countries. In 2017 its sales reached EUR 36.4 billion.
