United Group invests 120 million euros in green energy projects in Bulgaria

06 february 2025

Media provider United Group is embarking on a 120 million euro strategic investment in Bulgaria that includes the construction of three photovoltaic power plants and one wind farm that will provide a significant contribution to the country's energy sustainability. The projects, to be completed by 2027, are expected to reduce emissions by 120,000 tonnes of CO2 per year and generate power for 60,000 households, BalkanEngineer.com has learned from Economy.bg.

The green energy projects will provide 160% of the electricity needed for United Group's operations in the country, while reducing carbon dioxide emissions by around 120,000 tonnes per year.

The new renewable energy facilities will produce a total of 310,000 MWh per year, enough to power 60,000 households. In addition, the project includes the construction of state-of-the-art energy storage batteries that will ensure the stability of the electricity grid. The initiative is part of United Group's commitment to sustainable development and taking a leading role in the transition to clean energy in Bulgaria and Southeast Europe.

Victoria Boklag, CEO of United Group, said the project is an important step towards building a greener future for the region.
