In an effort to rank among the leading innovative companies in the region, the Serbian state-owned energy corporation Elektropredredba Srbije (EPS) has launched a comprehensive study on the implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) in its operations. The project aims to radically improve business processes, optimize production, and achieve higher standards of energy efficiency, BalkanEngineer.com learned from the specialized portal eKapija.

The study will analyze the possibilities for using AI algorithms to forecast consumption, optimize the operation of production facilities, and perform preventive maintenance on the power grid. The implementation of such technologies will allow EPS to reduce operating costs and minimize energy losses, while simultaneously increasing the stability of supply to end consumers. The goal is to create “smart” energy systems, which are at the heart of the modern energy transition.
EPS management emphasizes that artificial intelligence is increasingly becoming a necessity for managing complex energy balances amid a growing share of renewable sources. The results of the analysis are expected to lay the groundwork for the implementation of new software solutions that automate the analysis of large volumes of data in real time. This digital breakthrough will solidify EPS’s position as a modern energy operator, ready to meet the challenges of the future European market.
