Serbia has adopted an ordinance that provides for certain companies to be exempt from taxes and contributions for a period of three years from the start of their operations, BalkanEngineer.com learned from SerbianMonitor.com. The document will enter into force on 1th March 2020.

Serbian companies that are active in innovation and established after 1st March 2020 will be exempted from paying taxes and contributions on every profit up to 150 000 dinars a month. These conditions will apply for the first three years from the date of incorporation. Serbia is introducing this new measure to stimulate the start-up and development of new businesses in the field of innovation.

This tax relief is an initiative of the National Alliance for Economic Development (NALED) of the country, which aims to encourage young entrepreneurs to start their own businesses after completing their education by reducing their financial obligations.
