Romanian company TeraPlast acquired a polyethylene pipe plant in Spain with a base market value of 6.7 million euros

The Romanian group TeraPlast, which is one of the biggest processors of polymers in Southeast Europe, has officially finalized the contract for acquiring the MASA polyethylene pipe plant in Spain, owned by the international group Aliaxis. The deal has a market value of 6.7 million euros, with the final sum being calculated and paid after financial correction, BalkanEngineer.com has learned from the media company Romania Insider.

The production capacity is centered in the town of Oquendo, Northern Spain, around 20 kilometers from Bilbao, and has a yearly capacity of 16,000 tons. The factory has stable market positions and a developed network of clients across Spain, France, Germany, and in 2025, has generated income of around 29.4 million euros. The agreement stipulates that TeraPlast will take over the management of the factory in fully operational conditions, free of accumulated debt and together with the entire team of 79 employees.

The new owner plans to invest around 4 million euros over the next three years, in modernization of equipment and expanding the capacity of the facility with the goal of completely integrating it in the operational structure of the Romanian holding. With the conclusion of the transaction, Spain becomes the fifth foreign market where the group operates directly, following its successful expansion into the Republic of Moldova, Hungary, Austria, and Croatia.
