Romania's energy supplier Restart Energy and US-based fund Interlink Capital Strategies have established a joint venture that will generate USD 500 million in green energy investments in Romania and neighboring countries, as well as in a blockchain electricity trading platform in the USA, BalkanEngineer.com learned from BalkanGreenEnergyNews.com.
According to Interlink`s website the joint venture will finance the acquisition and development of renewable energy projects with a capacity of 500 MW by the end of 2025.
Restart Energy's plan is to acquire and develop projects for solar, wind, biogas, biomass and geothermal energy with a capacity of 100 MW per year, and the estimated investment is USD 100 million per year. Interlink will act as a strategic advisor.
According to Armand Domuta, CEO and founder of Restart Energy, this partnership will provide access to US capital and will accelerate the company's goal of providing 1000 GWh of clean and affordable renewable energy to 300 000 consumers in Romania and Europe by 2025. Domuta also said that this will allow Restart Energy to become Romania's first fully sustainable energy supplier of 100% locally produced green energy by 2025, BalkanGreenEnergyNews.com reports.
