RAIS, the leading European producer of metal cutting and metalworking CNC machines, has taken the next step toward the digitalization and technological transformation of its production. The company has signed a deal for financial aid with The Ministry of Innovation and Digital Transformation in Bulgaria regarding the implementation of a project to introduce Industry 4.0 technologies at the enterprise. The project is being implemented with the support of the European Union under the "Competitiveness and Innovation in Enterprises" Programme 2021–2027 and aims to build a more integrated, connected, and smart manufacturing environment.

"The project's primary goal is to modernize production by implementing a unified cyber-physical production system. This entails a closer digital link between the various stages of the manufacturing process—from product design and preparation to actual machining and the management of technological operations. Expected outcomes include more efficient resource utilization, reduced scrap rates, a decrease in non-productive tasks, and an overall increase in production efficiency," RAIS commented to BalkanEngineer.com.
RAIS was founded in 1994 in Pazardzhik, starting off by renovating old CNC metal cutting machines. Gradually, the establishment moved to developing its own equipment and establishing its position as a leading European provider in the sector. Today RAIS has more than 30 years of experience in the production of CNC machines, instruments and equipment for different industrial segments.
The investment in Industry 4.0 solutions is the natural next step in the company’s development. Over the years RAIS has not stopped in expanding its development capabilities with new CNC machines, innovative roboticized solutions and specialized equipment. Key milestones in the company's long history include the construction of a temperature-controlled assembly workshop, the upgrading of its production facilities, and the development of robotic manufacturing systems.
