The German startup Next.e.GO plans to invest 140 million euro in the production of electric cars at Balkan plant’s base near Lovech, BalkanEngineer.com learned from Economic.bg.

It is planned not only to assemble the carts in the factory, but to have a production with a higher added value. It is also expected that 1000 new job positions will be created.

The Balkan factory is currently producing bicycles and motorcycles, but the base has the appropriate equipment, which can be modified for the purpose of the automobile production.

Next.e.GO started its activity in the German city of Aachen. After its acquisition by the Dutch investment group ND Industrial BV in September 2020, the company operates under the name Next.e.GO Mobile SE. It realizes the production of the vehicle models e.GO Life First Edition, e.GO Life 60 and e.GO Life 40+.
