MEPSO and Dalekovod with an agreement for reconstruction of a substation

The Macedonian electricity transmission system operator (MEPSO) and Croatia's Dalekovod have signed a EUR 3.18 mln agreement for the reconstruction of a 400/110 kV Bitola 2 substation, BalkanEngineer.com learned from BalkanGreenEnergyNews.com.

 

 

The agreement marks the last stage of the facility`s overhaul and the deadline for the finalization of the activities is 36 months.

 

MEPSO's investments amount to EUR 2.2 million, and the rest is a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The reconstruction of Bitola 2 is amounted to EUR 6.4 mln. About EUR 1 mln is the approximate value of the 13 switches for the 400 kV distribution facility, and EUR 2.4 mln is provided for the 400/110 kV power transformer.

 

MEPSO Executive Director Eva Shukleva said that due to the importance of the substation, its reconstruction has been completed in several phases. Shukleva added that the investment will increase security of supply and reduce MEPSO's operating costs.
