Canadian company Magna Mechatronics, part of Magna International, will open a new plant in the town of Stip, North Macedonia, this month, BalkanEngineer.com has learned from a company announcement. The investment in the facility amounts to 45-50 million euro, the country's Prime Minister Hristian Mitkoski said. The factory is expected to create between 500 and 600 jobs.

This is Magna International's second plant in northern Macedonia. The company has been operating in the country for several years with a modern factory near Struga, employing 300 people. Its production activities include exterior mirror systems, actuators and wiring harnesses for leading European car manufacturers.
Magna International is one of the world's largest suppliers of automotive parts, with over 170,000 employees and sales offices in 28 countries. The new investment is expected to further strengthen the company's industrial presence in the region, while also expanding its production capacity in Europe.
